Version 4.0 Install Instruction: After you download all 6 parts, you should unzip the files, put them into the same directory, then run suitcs4.exe to install.
Magic Suitcase is a Microsoft Windows software package which is designed to be in support of the Magic: The Gathering card game from Wizards of the Coast. This software will do all of these things:
Magic card general reference. You can use Magic Suitcase to do lookups of card data quickly and easily. Want to get a text description a Bog Wraith? No Problem. What to lookup all Summon Legends cards? Easy. What to know all of the official rulings for a Royal Assassin, here they all are.
Inventory Tracker. You can track your card collection with Magic Suitcase. There are database fields provided: "Qty", "Buy", and "Sell" which you can use to keep track of the cards you have, you want, and the cards you want to get rid of.
Deck builder. You can use Magic Suitcase to create a play deck. You can start with a theme, like Thrulls, just select all cards from the master database that have the word "Thrull" in it and selectively copy those cards into your new deck, picking and choosing as you create your deck. You can then use the Calculate Probability function to see how often you will draw certain cards or card combos. Once your deck is finished, you can get a printout of all of the rulings made for all of the cards in your deck so that you are sure you know how to play your cards and have written evidence to back you up when questions do come up.
Deck Tester. You can use Magic Suitcase to playtest a deck that you have created. Magic Suitcase has a fully graphical drag-n-drop virtual tabletop playing area for you to play one deck against another.
Generate Practice Sealed Deck. You can generate a random virtual Starter Box or Booster Pack of any edition or expansion of cards. You can then use this to practice making a deck for sealed deck tournaments.
Print Proxy Cards. A Proxy card is a substitute card that is used in place of a real card. For example, if you have a deck that you want to practice with that has an expensive Black Lotus in it, then you might want to leave the real card out of the deck to avoid wear and play with a proxy instead. With Magic Suitcase, you can print a nice looking substitute to paste onto a real card.
Magic Suitcase works in Win95, Win98 or Windows NT. You need about 10 Meg of space on your hard drive and I recommend a 486/66 or faster CPU with at least 8mb RAM.
Magic Suitcase is fully functional - nothing is disabled and there are no beg screens.
From time to time, everyone comes up with an idea for something they'd like their software to do differently. This is true of all applications, no less Magic Suitcase. If you come across an idea that you think might make a nice enhancement to Magic Suitcase, your input is always welcome.
